briony ramona quinn was your typical middle child. she was a kid who liked to make an entrance, she liked to stand out. it wasn't every day that a middle child of three could coerce sisters young and old into acting out plays with her. aimee, her younger sister, was the only one who would indulge briony most of the time; the two girls would play pretend in their backyard where they usually pretended they were in another world. one of their favorites had been jurassic park - they would hide under bushes and climb trees and hunt imaginary raptors and flee from the menacing t-rex until they were called for dinner. while aimee had always forgotten about their makeshift adventures briony thought about them well into the night. due to her overactive imagination she was often scolded in class or made fun of by peers, making grand scenarios for a simple game of tag and taking "the floor is lava" way too seriously for any second grader (she still maintains that that game is serious business and she won't hear otherwise).

becoming an actor seemed only natural. briony was very much into school plays and choir but she wanted more. her parents had been worried about her childhood, they'd heard the horror stories of child stars going off the rails, or greedy parents draining their children dry of their finances but they were determined not to become that, they had only wanted to nurture their daughter's dream and to hopefully help her find a hobby where she could focus and have fun. they always told her it wasn't serious, even on her first day on the set of mrs. doubtfire that she could go home if she wanted to right then and there contracts be damned. still, she stuck it out and had the time of her life. instead of becoming bored or wanting to move on to the next thing briony wanted to do more. to make it fair on their children, lawrence and margo took turns taking briony to auditions to ensure that their other children weren't feeling left out. luckily for them there was hardly any bickering or tears of jealousy - julie was content with her sports and aimee was still too young to know the difference.

by 1998, with four movies under her belt and another on the way briony had becomed disillusioned with the acting business. she had grown tired of being isolated from kids her age, she was tired of tutors and long days on set (even if she had only been there for a couple of hours at a time) and she was ready to move on. a mature decision for a kid her age. she wanted to return to her old life with her friends and playing in her backyard and being able to go on family camping trips in the summer. although things didn't go as smoothly as she hoped, kids at school were particularly nasty - convinced that briony had a superiority complex (she didn't even know what that meant at the time) and was subjected to bullying. it's not something she enjoys dwelling on but since then she's become an advocate for anti-bullying especially when it comes to teenagers.

despite a rough few years briony eventually assimilated back into school life and found passion in art, in high school she did not participate in school plays or anything theatrical which was partially intentional, but instead she found solace in art and painting, clay sculpting and even playing tennis for her school. it's not something she's kept up with, the tennis anyway, but she was proud of herself for branching out and trying new things.

when briony turned 18 she had recieved a call from her agent, who despite her indefinite hiatus, had kept her on as a client. she had called every several months to check up on her - give her the run down and offer scrips that had run by her desk which had always been rejected, briony had accepted an audition in california much to her agent's surprise. initially briony had plans to take a year off to travel with her older sister but her trip had been cut short when she was officially offered the part of rose in the ballad of jack and rose. she still doesn't know why she accepted, she chalks it up to the intriguing script, or maybe the long dormant acting bug had finally woken, or maybe she had successfully avoided becoming another young hollywood tragedy and thought it would be safe to give it another go. whatever the reason she's thankful for it.

• personality wise briony has been known to be withdrawn, shy with the media, borderline pretentious and known to put her foot in her mouth when going on twitter and tumblr rants, also broods more than she probably should. she tries her best to stay lowkey and fly under the radar and is almost a completely different person with those she feels comfortable around.

• lived in an apartment with her older sister julie up until a year and a half ago when her sister became engaged. briony still lives in the same apartment now.

• has a public tumblr and twitter which she often engages with her fans, but also has a private blog for her most embarrassing guilty pleasures, and also so she can blog without guilt or having to worry.

• is picky about the movies and shows she appears in, she's happy with her status and doesn't feel the need to fill her resume up with a bunch of roles.

• enjoys playing video games and frequently plays under aliases on her laptop and playstation.

• has been targeted by male gamers for her feminist opinions when it comes to the gaming industry but claims she feeds on the tears of neckbeards.

• will personally shut down any korrasami hater.
